Indian Railways has recently released a notification for Recruitment of Sub-Inspectors in Railway Protection Force (SPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPF SF) in Level 6 of 7th CPC Pay matrix with initial pay of Rs 35,400/- and Allowances. As per the latest updates, computer-based test (CBT) for RPF SI Recruitment 2019 will start as soon as possible.

About RPF SI Exam

All the Candidates will face the Exam of SI (Male-Female). The Exam Will be of Written Type. Firstly Stage of Written Objective Type and Those Candidates Qualifying of Written Exam they Will be Called of PET/PST. The Candidates are working hard to take the Exam easily.

RPF SI Exam Pattern

  • The Exam Will be Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • The written test will be multiple choice objective type.
  • There will be 120 Questions/ Marks.
  • The question paper will consist of 35 questions on General Intelligence & Reasoning, 35 questions on Arithmetic and 50 questions on General Awareness.
  • The time duration will be 01:30 hours (90 minutes).
  • There will also be a negative marking of 1/3 Marks. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Candidate must obtain at least 35% Marks (30% in the case of SC and ST candidates) in the Written Examination for being considered for other Test/Tests.

Phase III (DV)

Based on your performance in CBT and subject to your qualifying in PET & PMT, you will be called for Document Verification (DV).In cases of two or more candidates securing same marks, their merit position shall be determined by the age criteria i.e. older person shall be given higher seniority.

The aspirants must produce all original documents in support of their educational qualification, age, SC/ST/OBC status, where applicable domicile and any other extracurricular activities including NCC at the time of Viva-Voce and documents verification.

Your appointment is subject to your passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by Railway Administration, final verification of educational and category certificates, verification of character and antecedents of the candidates from the local Administration and successful completion of initial training.

Based on performance in CBT and qualifying in PET/PFT selected candidates will be called for document verification dv all the original documents will be checked all candidates must produce all original documents in support of their educational qualification age SC,ST,OBC status where applicable domicile and any other extracurricular activities including NCC at the time of viva-voce and documents verification the following documents in original as well as their self-attested photocopies will be required for verification in respect of candidates who qualify in PET/PMT-

  • 10thmatriculation certificate as proof of age
  • 10thmatriculation certificate as proof of educational qualification
  • caste certificate for SC,ST,OBC candidates in the format prescribed for employment under central government
  • discharge certificate for ex-serviceman
  • two copies of self-attested color photograph
  • no objection Certificate NOC from the present employer in case of serving govt employees

What is RPF in Railway?

RPF (Railway Protection Force) is a security force of India invested with safeguarding properties of Indian Railways, railway passengers and the passenger area. The interesting fact is that this is the only security force that has been entrusted with the power to arrest, investigate and prosecute culprits or criminals. RPF works under the authority of Ministry of Railways.

Abou RPF

The first railway on Indian sub-continent ran over a stretch of 21 miles from Bombay to Thane. The idea of a railway to connect Bombay with Thane, Kalyan and with the Thal and Bhore Ghats inclines first occurred to Mr. George Clark, the Chief Engineer of the Bombay Government, during a visit to Bhandup in 1843.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is a security force of India entrusted with protecting railway passengers, passenger area and railway property of the Indian Railways .It has the power to arrest, investigate and prosecute criminals. The force is under the authority of Ministry of Railways (India). The strength of RPF is about 65,000.

As on 1 January 2014, sanctioned strength of Group ‘A’ officers in the RPF is 441, including 127 officers recruited through the Civil Services Examination of UPSC. The RPF is headed by the Director General (DG) Mr. Dharmendra Kumar, who was appointed as DG, RPF on 21 August 2017. He succeeded S K Bhagat, who superannuated on 20 February 2016. Since the superannuation of Mr R.R. Verma, the senior most RPF officer, Mr P.S. Rawal, had been acting DG.
