Railway Police Force Constable Syllabus

Indian Railways has recently released a notification for Recruitment of Constable in Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force in Level 3 of 7th CPC Pay matrix with initial pay of Rs 21,700/- and Allowances. Computer-based test (CBT) for the recruitment exam will start from 19 December 2019.

Railway Constable Syllabus
Indian Railways has announced 9739 vacancies for the post of RPF constable/ RSPF Sub Inspector (SI). This year, 50 % of the vacancies have been reserved for the female candidates. Aspirants can opt for any one language from Hindi, English, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Konkani, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Gujurati, Bengali, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese and Manipuri to attend the test. Candidate must obtain at least 35% Marks (30% in the case of SC and ST candidates) in the Phase I Examination for being considered for Phase II
RPF Constable Exam Pattern
As per the official RPF recruitment notification, RPF syllabus for both the categories is same. The level of SI exam will be high in comparison to that of Constable. Also, there will be a deduction of 1/3 marks for every incorrect answer. Below is the detailed RPF exam pattern for RPF Constable.

Candidates will get only one chance for 1600 and 800 mt race. But there will be two chances for high jump and long jump applicable to all categories.
Bonus Marks (maximum 5 marks)
Bonus marks are allotted as under:
- B Certificate of NCC-01 Mark
- C Certificate of NCC-02 Marks
- Maximum Marks for NCC certificate is 02.
- Benefit is available only on production of Original Certificate .This benefit is not available to Ex-servicemen.
- Represented University at inter university sports: 01 Marks
- Represented State at interstate sports: 2 marks
- Represented India at international sports meet-03 Marks
- Medal winner at national level sports meet- 03 Marks
- A male applicant whose height is 178 cms or more and a female applicant whose height is 165 cms or more will be given 03 marks as bonus.
Total bonus Marks for all categories put together shall not exceed 5.

RRB Constable Recruitment Process
The recruitment shall be held in the following phases:
- Phase I: Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Phase II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
- Phase III: Trade Test (For Drivers/ Ancillary staff/Band)
- Phase IV: Document Verification
Note: The phase IV shall be completed immediately after PET/PMT in case of Const (Exe)/SI (Exe) and immediately after Trade Tests in case of other categories at the location where PET/PMT & Trade Tests are being conducted.

RPF document verification
Based on performance in CBT and qualifying in PET/PFT selected candidates will be called for document verification dv all the original documents will be checked all candidates must produce all original documents in support of their educational qualification age SC,ST,OBC status where applicable domicile and any other extracurricular activities including NCC at the time of viva-voce and documents verification the following documents in original as well as their self-attested photocopies will be required for verification in respect of candidates who qualify in PET/PMT-
- 10thmatriculation certificate as proof of age
- 10thmatriculation certificate as proof of educational qualification
- caste certificate for SC,ST,OBC candidates in the format prescribed for employment under central government
- discharge certificate for ex-serviceman

The first railway on Indian sub-continent ran over a stretch of 21 miles from Bombay to Thane. The idea of a railway to connect Bombay with Thane, Kalyan and with the Thal and Bhore Ghats inclines first occurred to Mr. George Clark, the Chief Engineer of the Bombay Government, during a visit to Bhandup in 1843.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is a security force of India entrusted with protecting railway passengers, passenger area and railway property of the Indian Railways .It has the power to arrest, investigate and prosecute criminals. The force is under the authority of Ministry of Railways (India). The strength of RPF is about 65,000. As on 1 January 2014, sanctioned strength of Group ‘A’ officers in the RPF is 441, including 127 officers recruited through the Civil Services Examination of UPSC. The RPF is headed by the Director General (DG) Mr. Dharmendra Kumar, who was appointed as DG, RPF on 21 August 2017. He succeeded S K Bhagat, who superannuated on 20 February 2016. Since the superannuation of Mr R.R. Verma, the senior most RPF officer, Mr P.S. Rawal, had been acting DG.
